The Legend of Coronus

Coronus was the son of the famous Lapith warrior Caeneus and a member of the proud Lapith people of Thessaly.‌‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌ The Lapiths were renowned for their battle against the Centaurs at the wedding of Pirithous, and Coronus inherited his people's martial tradition. He joined Jason's expedition aboard the Argo, representing the Lapith contingent among the diverse crew of heroes. Coronus was a dependable warrior during the many challenges the Argonauts faced, from hostile kings to dangerous seas. His father Caeneus had been one of the greatest Lapith warriors, famous for being invulnerable to weapons and ultimately overwhelmed by Centaurs who buried him under a mountain of tree trunks. Coronus carried on his father's legacy with honour during the voyage.
