Myrmidon leadership, Hermes heritage

The Legend of Eudoros

Eudoros was the son of Hermes and Polymele, a beautiful dancer whom the god seduced after watching her perform at a festival of Artemis.‍‍‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍ After his birth, Eudoros was raised by his maternal grandfather Phylas and his stepfather Echecles. Despite not being of Achilles' direct line, Eudoros was appointed one of the five commanders of the Myrmidon divisions, a testament to his divine parentage and martial skill. He was the swiftest runner and finest fighter among the Myrmidons after Achilles and Patroclus. When Patroclus led the Myrmidons into battle wearing Achilles' armour, Eudoros commanded his division in the devastating charge that drove the Trojans back from the Greek ships. His Hermes heritage gave him exceptional speed, making him a natural fit for Achilles' swift-footed warriors.
