The Legend of Erytus

Erytus was a Greek hero who sailed with the Argonauts alongside his brother Actor.‌‍‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‌‌ The two brothers joined Jason's crew together and served aboard the Argo during the legendary voyage to Colchis. Erytus was the son of Hermes according to some traditions, or of Actor according to others, reflecting the typical variation in mythological genealogies. He and his brother were loyal and capable members of the crew, contributing their strength to the oars and their courage to the many dangers the expedition faced. The brotherly bond between Erytus and Actor was representative of the many familial connections among the Argonauts, as brothers, cousins, and kinsmen sailed together on the quest. Their partnership strengthened the crew and reflected the Greek heroic ideal of fighting alongside one's kin.
