Eribotes
Argonaut who served as a healer aboard the Argo and recovered the body of his fallen companion Canthus
The Legend of Eribotes
Eribotes was a Greek hero who sailed with Jason and the Argonauts on their quest for the Golden Fleece. He was the son of Teleon and served an important role aboard the Argo as one of the crew members with knowledge of healing arts. During the long and dangerous voyage, Eribotes tended to wounded companions and helped maintain the crew's fighting strength. His most notable recorded act was recovering the body of his companion Canthus after the latter was killed by the Libyan king Caphaurus while pursuing stolen cattle. Eribotes braved danger to bring his friend's body back to the crew so they could perform proper funeral rites. His dedication to this duty reflects the deep bonds of loyalty and honour that bound the Argonauts together throughout their legendary journey.
