Actor was a Greek hero who joined the Argonaut expedition alongside his brother Erytus.‍​‌​‍​‌​‍​‌​‌​‍​‍​‍​‌​‌​‍​‌​‍​‌​‍​‌​‌​‍​‌​‍​‌​‌​‌​‍​‍​‌​‌​‌​‌​‍ The name Actor was extremely common in Greek mythology, borne by numerous figures including a king of Phthia, a companion of Heracles, and several other warriors. The Argonaut Actor sailed from Thessaly to join Jason's crew at Iolcus. He and his brother served as reliable members of the ship's company during the long and dangerous voyage to Colchis and back. Actor contributed his strength at the oars and his courage in the battles and challenges the crew faced along the way.
