The Legend of Melanthius

Melanthius was a goatherd in Odysseus' household who betrayed his absent master by aligning himself with the suitors.‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‍‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‌‌ When Odysseus returned disguised as a beggar, Melanthius kicked and insulted him on the road to the palace.
