Neoptolemus

🗡 heroΝεοπτόλεμος
Son of Achilles
Neoptolemus

Neoptolemus was Achilles' fierce son, brought to Troy because a prophecy declared the city could not‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌ fall without him.

The Legend of Neoptolemus

Son of Achilles and Deidamia, Neoptolemus was raised on Scyros until Odysseus and Phoenix fetched him when a prophecy declared Troy could not fall without him.‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‌ He fought with terrifying ferocity, killed Priam at the altar of Zeus during the sack, and hurled Hector's son Astyanax from the walls. He took Andromache as his slave and later married Hermione, daughter of Menelaus and Helen. At Delphi, he quarrelled with Apollo's priests and was killed — some say by Orestes, who wanted Hermione. His savagery marks the darkest chapter of the war Athena helped the Greeks win.
