The Legend of Doryclus

Doryclus was another of the many illegitimate sons of King Priam of Troy.‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍‌‌‍‍‍‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‍‍‌‌ His name derives from the Greek words for spear and fame, marking him as one destined for the warrior's life. Like many of Priam's sons both legitimate and illegitimate, Doryclus took up arms in defence of his father's city when the Greek expedition arrived. He fought among the Trojan ranks during the long years of warfare. Doryclus was killed during the battles, falling to a Greek warrior's weapon on the plain before Troy. His death added to the immense toll that the war took on Priam's family. Ancient sources record that Priam had fifty sons, many of them illegitimate, and the war claimed the vast majority of them.
