Telesto
Oceanid nymph who personified divine success and the fulfillment of purpose
The Myth of Telesto
Telesto was a daughter of Oceanus and Tethys whose name derives from the Greek word telos, meaning end, completion, or fulfillment. She represented the successful conclusion of endeavors blessed by the gods. Hesiod lists her among the elder Oceanids in his Theogony, placing her in the company of her many sisters who each governed an aspect of the waters or the natural world. Although she appears rarely in mythological narratives, her conceptual role as the spirit of accomplishment made her a figure invoked in prayers for the completion of journeys and undertakings.
